About Make It Now
Make It Now Project Workshops are self-paced video tutorials that focus on a single project or topic. Unlike our multi-week interactive classes, Make It Now projects are designed for you to work on your own. Because of this, there are no live instructor chats or active class forums. Should you need help, you're always welcome to contact the instructor with specific questions.

Class content is provided via 10 video lessons (1 hour and 30 minutes total) available immediately upon registration. You can access and watch the lessons at your leisure and download the PDF Quick Lesson Guide for supporting information.
This workshop will guide you through the creation of three 5x7 holiday greeting card designs using included template files, swatches and patterns. You'll create a collection of snowflakes, ornaments and other holiday elements and place your creations in an included card layout file. In the final stages, you'll personalize your cards, adding your own photographs and typography.
Laura provides information on exporting and sending your finished cards to print: whether it's on your own ink jet printer, or through an online commercial printer. You'll boost your Illustrator skills by taking a layout from start to finish, working with shortcuts, layers, clipping masks, effects and Illustrator's Appearance Panel.

This self-paced workshop is taught in Adobe Illustrator CS4 & CS5, and is compatible with CS6.
To get the most out of this class, you'll need to have taken Laura's beginning Illustrator class, or have prior experience in Illustrator.

The fonts used in this project are available on MyFonts.com. A link to the collection of fonts is provided on Laura's blog. Some fonts used are free for personal use, and others are available for purchase. The fonts are not required for this class, and you may use your own.
