Class content is presented via video recordings, which are available to you immediately upon registration and you can access and watch at your leisure. There's also a Quick Reference Guide to download and print.
This class will walk you through the creation of a digital layout from start to finish. We’ll rely on layer masks to blend a photo into our background, thread a string through multiple objects and create cast shadows. Then, we’ll fine tune our layout with a title, additional elements, and drop shadows.
Topics
Introduction
Preparing the Workspace & Adding Supporting Photos
The Focal Photo and the Gradient Fill Adjustment Layer
Threading, Masking, & Cast Shadows
The Final Details
Adobe Photoshop CS4 is the recommended software for this class. Earlier versions of Photoshop Creative Suite will be unable to complete the Cast Shadowing tutorial. In addition to the course materials, you will receive a free companion pack featuring colorful strings for practice.
Four photos are recommended for this layout. At least one of them should be a good candidate for enlarging and converting to black and white.
Students are invited to use any digital kit available. You can also purchase the Once Papers+Elements kit used in the demonstration by Paislee Press at Oscraps.com.

The Layout
Digital scrapbookers are no strangers to technique and we will discuss quite a few. After this course, you can apply these same techniques to new digital layouts and projects. You’ll discover additional tips for text, elements and shadowing to help you complete your final layout.
