iShot That! The Art of iPhone Photography

If you own an iPhone, you also own the most popular digital camera on the market today. That’s right, the most popular digital camera is a phone! Well, to be honest the iPhone is much more than a phone. In fact, I rarely use it as a phone anymore, what with texting and all the cool apps. But I digress…

The reason I’m writing this post is to tell you that we have a brand new class here at reneepearson.com. It’s called “iShot That! The art of iPhone photography.”

I’m so excited about this class! It’s taught by husband and wife team Jim and Molly Newman. Jim’s a photography geek (I mean that in the most flattering sense of the word, Jim) who I understand has all but packed away his DSLR in favor of his iPhone. Many of you already know Molly, a popular instructor here and a former editor at Digital Scrapbooking magazine.

I can’t wait to take this class myself. I’m a horrible iPhone photographer and can use all the help I can get. Everything I’ve learned about photography seems to fly right out of my head the moment I aim my “camera.” I’m also at a loss about which of the many apps I just invest in and how I should use them. I’ll learn all this and more from iShot That!

Learn to see—and shoot—like an artist. Your iPhone is your brush and your canvas. You can learn more about iShot That! here. I hope to see you in class. I’ll be there.

  1. Question: I assume my iPod touch (4th Gen) would be a compatible “camera” for this class, right?

  2. Hi Jennifer! You are certainly welcome to use your iPod Touch for the class, though it does have a considerably lower resolution than the iPhone 4’s built-in 5MP camera.

  3. I have an iphone 3g, hope thats Ok for the class? 2mp vs 5mp. I’ll cut back on the coffee and lock my elbows to compensate for the lower res :)
