Writing. Clicking. Scrapbooking. Challenge
Hello dear readers! We are in the midst of the holiday season at Write. Click. Scrapbook. This month, our designers are rotating daily in an effort to inspire your month to be filled with creativity, crafting, and memory keeping. We hope you will stop by often.
We are excited to be back blogging with you for the final installment in our Write. Click. Scrapbook. challenge series. We look forward to a new inspiration series beginning next month! We really do appreciate Renee for letting us share our love of scrapbooking with you here.
As we created our challenges this month, we wanted to not vex your schedules or add an additional burden, and we wanted to do something that would be a fun page to look back upon. Further, recognizing that many of you will be keeping December Daily journals and scrapbooks, we did our best to find challenges that will fit right into your books!
Without further ado, let’s begin.

During the holidays, I am fairly capable at taking photos, but it seems my time to sit and journal becomes nearly nonexistent. The to do list yells at me from the table every time I try to rest for a moment. Here are a few suggestions that I have found helpful.
Keep Notes in your Calendar. This time of year, my Google calendar is always open. I find it to be a quick place to jot notes about our days, funny things that were said, or thoughts I have about page starters. I am hoping that Google will outlast my memory and that they will be available forever for me to get back to.
Carry a Notebook and Pen in my Purse. Standing in lines is a given when shopping, and driving, these days. Keeping a notebook handy not only keeps me from feeling this time is wasted, but also makes me more patient with the wait.
Work out Your System. Success is often best achieved with a plan. At the beginning of the month, it is helpful to decide how you’re going to approach your holiday scrapping. Are looking to scrapbook as usual this month or do you want to focus on recording holiday memories? Perhaps you are trying to create a magical December schedule for your children. It is easy to let yourself down if you are trying to incorporate everyone’s ideas into your month, without figuring out exactly what works for you. Once your parameters are set, you will find much freedom, I promise.
Let’s move to today’s challenge. For this one, the journal and photography challenges are linked. Make a list, both visual and written, of five things you do today. (See how easily this will fit into your December Daily!)
Here are mine:
1. Helping Lavender with her reindeer
2. Wreath making
3. Helping Poppy with her reindeer
4. Stringing a new banner
5. Framing some new holiday decor
And here are the photos. For layouts like these, you might want to consider using photos from your phone. (Especially those of you who are lucky enough to have instamatic and hipstamatic apps! I am waiting for Santa to bring mine!)

As a scrapbook challenge, we thought we might just continue on with the idea of 5. Five photos. Five activities. And now, five products. Yes, let’s put our five photos and five activities together with five products!

Let’s see it all put together!

Cheryl Overton took our 5–5-5 challenge and put together this fun layout. Not having a photo to accompany one of her activities, she efficiently found one online.

I asked her if she would be so kind to reuse the same format and layout for a non-holiday layout. She is good to me, so she did. I love how different they look despite their similarities.

I thought the process of 5–5-5 was pretty slick, so I wanted to join in the non-holiday fun, too!

Aly Dosdall also accepted the 5–5-5 challenge. I love the slice of life she captured. (I need to remember to take a picture of my kids in the car, too. We seem to spend a lot of time in there!)
Oh, how I love our team and their creativity. Thank you all for taking time out of your busy schedules to spend a few minutes with us! I hope you will be inspired to create a 5–5-5 layout capturing a snapshot of your day!
