New! Building Color Confidence with Cilenia Curtis

Creating artistic color themes from scratch
Ready to get your colors on? Color is Cilenia Curtis’ first love! It’s what influences her in choosing how she scraps, how she decorates her home, creates quilts, and many other things that surround her in her everyday life.
In Building Color Confidence, a 3-week class, Cilenia will help you learn to confidently work with color, no matter what kind of project you want to create. She’ll give you the tools and knowledge you need to choose colors confidently, so you can mix and match your digital stash while creating layouts and art.
Meet Cilenia Curtis
Cilenia Curtis has been teaching computer-aided graphics professionally for over 20 years, both privately and within the companies she has worked for. She chose to put all that aside 3 years ago to pursue her own dream of owning her own business, pouring herself into her art and sharing with others the passion she feels when she creates.
Cilenia lives on the edge of the Mojave Desert and Mount Charleston located just on the outskirts of Las Vegas, NV and loves the exquisite beauty that is ever-changing between these two extreme seasonal environments. Her dream is to share her love of art and inspire others to find their inner artist by helping them see deeper into the beauty found in our everyday lives. She firmly believes there is an artist lurking in all of us, and we only need to believe it to release it.
Join instructor Cilenia Curtis in a live video chat Monday March 5 at 9pm ET on ReneeTV, where she will preview Building Color Confidence and answer any questions you may have on her class. We’ll see you there.

By now, Photoshop had emerged as Renee’s primary artistic tool. This coupled with a creative surge she was experiencing and the unfolding of our personal life events placed us on our current path.
I was entering the realization phase. Besides observing the seemingly endless flow of beautiful digital images and themed mail art Renee and her colleagues were creating (that I loved), I found that discussing this art with Renee and several of her comrades provided me a realization that was profound: Spirituality and noble purpose were major components of the creative process. Tales of a Scrapbooking Groupie: The Early Days

Art becomes a spiritual process depending upon the degree of commitment that you bring to it. Every experience becomes direct food for your art. Then your art teaches you about life …Nick Bantock
Now that I’ve introduced myself, I must tell you that my path into the scrapbooking world was more a zig zag course. I will also admit that it took a while before I even knew that the journey had started. I know, you need to hear more, right? (more…)
Art Break — Play with Paintings
When Google’s Art Project was first unveiled I was pretty excited to be able to virtually tour museums around the world and zoom in on a painting down to the centuries-old brushstroke. I walked the empty Hall of Mirrors at Versailles, then laid on my back and stared at the paintings on the ceiling. Yeah, that was cool. (more…)
Product Review: Repper Patterns

I’m always on the lookout for better design tools. Even though I rely on Photoshop or Illustrator most of the time, sometimes all I need is a quick patterned background to set the stage for a page layout.
I could do this in Photoshop, of course. But pattern-making in Photoshop is a laborious task that I tend to avoid. Enter Repper. (more…)
