Tiffany Tillman’s Heart of the Holidays

Tis the Season

Tiffany Tillman’s popular 25 Days of Templates workshop is back and this season we will capture the Heart of the Holidays!

25 Days of Templates began as an online workshop in 2009, and each year since, it has helped hundreds of digital scrapbookers record their favorite December memories. This year’s focus presents weekly presentations featuring the best album strategy, photography, and digital technique lessons from previous editions. And new this year, are Monday — Friday journaling prompts by master storyteller, Sara Gleason of Plant Your Story.

Using your choice of Tiffany’s square or letter-sized holiday-inspired template sets as a foundation plus a generous, digital mega-kit by Karla Dudley and Mye De Leon, you’ll have everything you need to complete a detailed or relaxed album featuring your most-cherished holiday memories.

Be sure to join Tiffany on ReneeTV Tuesday, November 13 at 9pm EST (New York City) for a live webinar related to Heart of the Holidays. Everyone’s invited to attend.

Freebies on Friday: Brushes

Can you ever have too many brushes? I say not really. When you see beautiful Photoshop brushes like the ones shown above in Shiny Flower Brushes by Heygrey, it’s hard not to say ‘I want those brushes.’ It really makes you smile when the brushes are free.

I was checking out Brush Lovers earlier today and could not believe the beautiful free Photoshop brushes available there. Besides Shiny Flower Brushes, my other favorites were Rosy Watercolor by Heygrey and Flowers & Fruits Old Postcards by PinkOnHead shown below.

Brush Lovers has an amazing selection of Photoshop brushes and they’re all free. Check them out. While you’re there, take a moment and let them know which are your favorites. You’re gonna love these brushes. Enjoy!

Draw Ribbons and Streamers in Illustrator

In this video tutorial, I show you how to create two custom calligraphic brush tips in Adobe illustrator. Grab your tablet and the Paintbrush tool, and you’ll have the perfect brush for drawing flowing ribbons and flourishes. Drawing with these fun brush tips is a great way to develop freehand skill with your tablet. I also demonstrate how Illustrator’s Smooth Tool allows you to iron out the bumps to make your linework look effortless. (If only it were that easy outside of Illustrator!) I’ll also show you some tips for editing and shading your linework to add to your bag of tricks.

Creating Your Own Signature Brush

Hi there everyone! I’m Cilenia Curtis, and I am honored and thrilled that Renee has asked me to be a guest here on her blog to occasionally share some of my favorite tips and tricks.

I have been playing with mixed media art and art quilting for over 30 years and started drawing on the computer in 1986 for my job in Architecture and Engineering. Boy, do I feel old saying that! Over the last few years, I have been combining my 3 loves and creating and selling digital at Digitals.

Something I am asked a lot, and again recently, is how to create your own unique signature for using on a blog, adding to an art project and even as a watermark for photos posted online. Here’s how.
