Let’s Make a New Class

Melange Digital Kit

A question I get a lot from both students and other designers is, “How do you create and organize a brand new class?” My reply, “It’s a mystery wrapped in an enigma.” (Insert your own version of a smiley or LOL here.)

Actually, I do use an organized process while still allowing myself the creative freedom to follow new paths that open up. I’ve been working on a follow-up to Collage 101 for several months. The hold-up hasn’t been the lack of ideas. It’s the lack of time that has put this pet project on a back burner more times than I care to admit.

I have to confess there’s an ulterior motive to my sharing the development of this new class with you here. If I move the ball forward to tell you about it, then the ball is…well…moving forward! Sound like a plan, yes?

Let me bring you up to date on where I am now. (more…)
