iScrapit Mobile Scrapbooking Class

After receiving all of your wonderful notes and much encouragement, I’m excited to announce that iScrapit: Mobile scrapbooking for iPad & iPhone, is now back and open for registration.

In iScrapit, you’ll learn how to create beautiful digital albums using Apple Keynote for iPad or iPhone. Over the course of 3-weeks, I’ll cover everything from adding images and text to animations and transitions. You’ll also learn how to convert your digital kits and templates to sizes that work with your mobile device and how to take your Project Life mobile.

As an iPad and iPhone user, I’ve been amazed by all the creative uses for these small devices. And I’m sure I wouldn’t have been able to attempt Project Life without them.

I’m happy to share this sneak peek into iScrapit.

Friday’s Freebies: Vladstudio for iPhone & iPad

I posted this note on these wallpapers a few months back. I’ve been spending a lot of time with my iPad lately, developing iScrapit, my new mobile scrapbooking class. And since I’ve started taking daily photos with my iPhone using great apps like Camera+, Instagram & Hipstamatic, my iPhone and I are joined at the hip. (Do iPhones have hips? Hmmm…)

No matter what I’m doing, I’m exposed to my device’s wallpaper dozens of times a day. I want it to be pretty…today. Tomorrow I may want it to be grungy. And next week? Who knows! I might be on an abstract binge by then.

There are bazillions of sites offering iOS wallpapers, and choosing one or two can be overwhelming. I thought I’d feature one of my favorites. Illustrator Vlad Gerasimov of Russia offers fresh, fun and funky free wallpapers and other bling for your iPhone and iPad at his site, Vladstudio.

I like Vlad’s style and I think you will, too.

Note to Android Users: I’m researching a similar post for you. Since I don’t own an Android, I need help from those of you who do. Where do you get your Android goodies?

Friday’s Freebie: Serenity App

Life can be chaotic and stressful. Take a break and relax with Serenity, a collection of beautiful, tranquil destinations in your pocket.” — taptaptap

From the makers of Camera+, everyone’s favorite mobile camera app, comes Serenity: The Relaxation App, free for a limited time. Serenity strives to ease your mind in the midst of daily stress by providing more than 30 relaxing videos for tranquility and relaxation.

Florence Arnold, the Serenity developer, wanted to give people a tool to help them pause. She’d seen way too many folks tie their bodymind into knots — literally — for lack of pausing. (Color me guilty!)

My first experience with Serenity was to take what Florence calls a “sound bath,” a mix of equal parts Serenity, headphones and me. I chose a waterfall screen and set the built-in timer for 15 minutes. Not only is there a video of the falling water, the sounds are there, too.

It’s important to walk away from the computer, into a quiet area, and sit or lie down. After watching the video for a few minutes I swear I could smell the water! When my 15 minutes were up the sound and video ended. I relaxed for another minute, then rose, stretched and returned to work refreshed. It works!

There’s no “new age” magic in Serenity. In fact, you can achieve the same results by closing your eyes and going to your happy place for 15 minutes. But it’s so much more fun to escape to a beautiful landscape and the sounds of nature instead.

Serenity for iPhone takes you on a vacation every time you start the app.” — appstorm
